1. Introduction

Thank you for downloading this release of Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0. This file contains information that supplements the Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0 documentation such as requirements, information on new features, corrected bugs, known problems etc. This file was updated with the latest information available at release time.

This edition of Parallels Plesk Billing is designed specifically to be installed together with Parallels Plesk Panel software and is shipped as Parallels Plesk Panel extension.

Refer to the Parallels Plesk Billing Installation Guide available at to obtain instructions on installing and upgrading Plesk Control Panel.

2.1. Before Installation

Before starting the installation process we strongly recommend that you create a full system backup of the entire server.

Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0 Bundle shall be installed over Parallels Plesk Panel 9.0 for Linux/Unix. See Parallels Plesk Panel 9.0 for Linux/Unix requirements for more details. The list of supported operating systems includes:

IMPORTANT:
In order to navigate between Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Plesk Billing without login/password typed in, each new user has to create global account in Parallels Plesk Panel and join it in Parallels Plesk Billing. Creating account in Parallels Plesk Billing and joining it in Parallels Plesk Panel is also correct.

Your clients shall access Parallels Plesk Billing either clicking their balance (shown in Parallels Plesk Panel) or going to https://domain.name:8443/plesk-billing/app-modernbill-client.

3. Upgrade Instructions

Important notes for users of Parallels Virtuozzo Containers:

Parallels Auto-installer (also known as Plesk Updater) supports updating Parallels Plesk Panel and other software inside Parallels Virtuozzo Containers using EZ templates.

Compared to the previously used updating scheme, updating through EZ templates will save disk space significantly and will allow running more containers on a single hardware node.

This feature is available only with EZ templates. To upgrade a container this way, you need to:

Migration from standalone installation of Parallels Plesk Billing 5.6

Earlier Parallels Plesk Billing was shipped for standalone installation only. Please refer to "Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0 for Linux Installation and Update Guide" for migration details

IMPORTANT:

4. What's New

Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0.0

  1. [+] Tight integration with Parallels Plesk Panel, including cross navigation without password via Parallels Single Sign-On Service, ability to open Parallels Plesk Panel from Parallels Plesk Billing or vice versa, actual client balance and due date shown in Parallels Plesk Panel.
  2. [-] Built-in HelpDesk is not supported anymore, built-in HelpDesk is abandoned. Please consider using any 3rd party solution.
